Adios Anne

Anne Whitmore, our very talented and feisty watercolorist, died after a number of months of increasing physical hardship from a cancer. She bravely kept her optimism up and her hope for the future intact for much of that time. We'll miss her really wonderful work, with its jewel-bright colors and clarity of vision. In fact for a month we'll enjoy a last big dose of it as we celebrate her life in art, starting with an evening remembrance on First Friday, the 5th of September. Hele mai to 46 Waianuenue Street and lift a toast to this fine artist, much beloved among her friends.

anne is a friend. i'm very sad to hear of her passing but at the same time happy her suffering and pain has ended.

what a bright light! Her paintings captured the beauty of hawaii and the joy of having one or some of her cards was they were usually spots you had been to yourself....no camera could reproduce the magic element anne added.

I'm in canada and can't attend any celebrations of her life. but at least i can say here, and in spirit to anne: LOVE YA GAL!

Thank you for providing Anne with such a fine community of artists, support and love. Anne was happiest since she moved to Hawaii and her artwork reflected this. I speak for many who knew and loved Anne when I say she will be greatly missed. May her spirit dwell in peace.
